Internship - Marketing and Promotions Assistant
NFPBS is seeking a committed intern to support the Operations Manager administrator in marketing client events and assist in the day to day running of the numerous event. The role will suit a college or university leaver looking to enhance their marketing and event management skills.
We are a dedicated association management company offering the not for profit sector full support in the administration and other specialist services. The wide range of services available ensures that the client organisation gets the support that it requires and fulfils its legal obligations allowing trustees and directors to concentrate upon the organisations core objectives.
This is an unpaid position and there may not be a permanent position available at the end of the internship. The purpose of the internship is to provide an opportunity to learn the key skills needed to work in professional marketing and event management. This internship is for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to develop experience of working in a professional outsourced marketing and event management environment. Training will be provided initially and thereafter a level of self-initiative will be expected.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, creative, and take initiative in their work.
Experience is essential for the role but specific training will be provided to the right candidates. However, knowledge of the Microsoft suite of software, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook etc and a positive attitude and passion for provide support to the highest level is a must!
Benefits:
• In return, you will be first in line for permanent positions available part time or full time.
• Other benefits consist of helping to organize and promote in major venues with major Clients. Creating contacts and getting your foot into the door.
• Although this is an unpaid internship, lunch and travel will be reimbursed.
Duties will include:
• Liaising with clients, sponsors and Media Partners on telephone and in writing
• Assisting the event Manager with the running and organizing events
• Taking clients bookings and making arrangement for invoicing
• Assisting with PR Promoting the event via various marketing mediums
Staying away from home on occassions
• Attending our events and helping with backstage etc.
Skills:
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive friendly nature.
• Drive / determination
• Flexibility and the ability to work well in a team
• Well organised
• Able to negotiate well and the ability to persuade / influence others.
• Attention to detail is crucial.
Applicants should be able to volunteer for up to one year for 5 days a week. A probationary period of 3 months must be completed
